I just started using Pinterest, and it is quickly proving to be a force greater than myself. It’s a great way to quickly create mood boards for client projects, dream homes, future vacation spots, or just things that put you in a good mood. Being a designer, visual stimulation is the fastest way for me to draw a conclusion about the direction of a project, and this is exactly the tool I never knew I needed. I have a few boards set up already, and I’m sure there will be more the the near future. In the meantime, check out Color Happy. Happy Wednesday!
Ewaso Lions Posters at Work
Happy New Year! And what a great way to start the new year by seeing a pro-bono project come to life! This poster collection was designed for Ewaso Lions, a grassroots project promoting the conservation of lions through research and community-based outreach programs in Africa. Did you know Kenya has less than 2,000 lions left? The project relies on our donations, so donate today! (Thanks for the photos, Nilanga!)
Diplomatic, Charming and Indulgent

According to these Signs of the Zodiac prints by JSGD (Boston), that’s what I am: Diplomatic, Charming and Indulgent. Who am I to argue?
I really like this idea, and the prints are beautiful and simple. Oh, and you can pick your own background color! Fun! via papercrave

Modern Vintage Logos

I’m such a fan of the “modern vintage” look that seems to be popping up everywhere these days. It takes a lot of talent to make something look authentically vintage, yet appropriate for contemporary use. Here are a handful of logos designed by Simon Walker that I think are fantastic. via Vintage Me Oh My
Chris Martin: Painting Big

Chris Martin, Untitled, 1992–2003.

Chris Martin, Ganges Sunrise Asi Ghat Varanasi…, 2002.
I love it when art can overwhelm you. Even in small-scale, these paintings by Chris Martin have that quality. Needless to say, I’m really excited to see them in full form. Chris Martin’s Painting Big exhibition opens at the Corcoran this weekend and runs through October.
